Core Team Member: Student Experience

Role overview

The Student Experience role focuses on how students interact with Falah at every stage. This includes first contact, the application process, and post-award support. The objective is to ensure processes are clear, fair, and student-centered. This role is intended for someone who has recently graduated and has first-hand experience navigating university systems, scholarships, and early career pathways within the Muslim community.

Responsibilities

  • Review and improve the scholarship application and review process
  • Support communication with applicants and recipients
  • Collect and synthesize student feedback
  • Identify points of confusion, friction, or inequity
  • Work with the core team to implement process improvements
  • Ensure consistency and professionalism in student-facing materials

Required skills

  • Recently graduated from an undergraduate or graduate program
  • Strong written communication skills
  • High attention to detail
  • Ability to think critically about fairness and accessibility
  • Professional and reliable communication style

Ideal skills

  • Experience applying for scholarships, grants, or competitive programs
  • Familiarity with student services or advising environments
  • Comfort reviewing forms, workflows, and written materials
  • Ability to give clear, constructive feedback

What success looks like

  • Students clearly understand how to apply and what to expect
  • Fewer clarification requests from applicants
  • Positive feedback regarding fairness and clarity
